Beheadings at ‘record levels’: Saudi Arabia executes dozens in deadly August

I guess some beheadings are more "acceptable" than others.

Beheadings at ‘record levels’: Saudi Arabia executes dozens in deadly August
AUGUST 26, 2014 1:56PM * News.com

A PERSON has been put to death in Saudi Arabia almost every day this month with the country expected to have added to that figure with the execution of its 23rd inmate yesterday. Hajras al-Qurey will become the latest person to be executed in the last three weeks with human rights groups horrified by what they are calling a surge in executions.

The execution of al-Qurey will top off a deadly week around the world with the beheading of an Egyptian man by Libya armed groups and the execution of 18 informers by Hamas, according to Amnesty International. Human rights groups have been unable to confirm whether his execution has yet taken place.

Last Monday four men — two sets of brothers Hadi bin Saleh Abdullah al-Mutlaq and Awad bin Saleh Abdullah al-Mutlaq along with Mufrih bin Jaber Zayd al-Yami and Ali bin Jaber Zayd al-Yami — were beheaded.

He is afraid to go back to renew his visa....he is sure he will be activated in the Saudi military.

Why?

The Saudis believe they are on the brinj of civil war. No doubt these beheadings are related.

Spouse and I were just discussing this today -- what gets airplay, what doesn't, who's allowed to do what before getting labeled a menace to the U.S.

The double-think is staggering...

I'm a little surprised no one has yet posted "well yah, but ISIS beheaded AMERICANS! ... not 'random Aye-rabs'".

My reply is Saudi's behead women. Sometimes for the crime of shaming their family by being raped.

I know there was a time in our ancient past that warriors took heads to show to their kings that they had in fact killed the enemy. This is just barbarism. What's next? A return to crucifixation for capital punishment as well?

it may be considered a more 'humane' way of execution, compared to the myriad of other types of imposing capital punishment. Look up "torture" in Wikipedia, and you'll see what I mean.

Crucifixion was common in more cultures than just the Roman one, and a particularly gruesome method is immurement, often with just the head exposed. That said, while the Islamic version is long and torturous, a convicted criminal in merry olde England hoped for a swift end from the swing of an executioner's blade.

Being as that part of the world is stuck in the 7th Century, it doesn't surprise me that beheading is used.

but we have capital punishment too and guilt or innocence doesn't seem to be as important as the conviction. Of course, it's not on the same scale, but state sanctioned killing is state sanctioned killing.

exactly as dead and also died in terror.....Saudi should never be an ally of America, Obama being cozy to that terrorist state is giving me pause.

One be heading a day and the world stands silent.
