"It was just so shocking," Roberta Thompson told TPM.
She mostly confirmed what her husband told multiple news outlets last week, saying that the two of them were right next to each other during the incident. But she provided her own take on how the events unfolded, including a portion that she said involved the eldest Palin daughter, Bristol Palin, and the owner of the house, Korey Klingenmeyer.
"What I saw was two girls run past and run towards Korey," Roberta Thompson said. "And then I just saw Bristol Palin start punching him in the face."
"It was quite, quite violent," she added.
She said Klingenmeyer was clearly upset about what was happening but maintained his composure.
"She kept punching him and then he just said, you know, 'You need to go,'" Thompson said.

(10,715 posts)and I'm pretty sure where a person lives is a poor determiner of character.
My grandmother was the kindest person I've ever known, and she lived in an older mobile home (a "trailer" by another name) for her last 20 years. Everyone was welcome there, and it was a wonderful community full of wonderful people.

(58,237 posts)What's your point? DU is supposed to be a progressive community, so I find it odd for a DU member to be worrying that Dick Cheney's feelings might be hurt over the truth:
Draft dodger
(Cheney) said he "never served" because of deferments to finish a college career that lasted six years rather than four, which he attributed to subpar academic performance and the fact that he had to work to pay for his education.
He added that he "would have obviously been happy to serve had I been called."
Away from the hearing room, he told the Washington Post that he had sought his deferments because "I had other priorities in the 60's than military service."

Convicted war criminal
In what is the first ever conviction of its kind anywhere in the world, the former US President and seven key members of his administration were yesterday (Fri) found guilty of war crimes.
Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and their legal advisers Alberto Gonzales, David Addington, William Haynes, Jay Bybee and John Yoo were tried in absentia in Malaysia.
The trial held in Kuala Lumpur heard harrowing witness accounts from victims of torture who suffered at the hands of US soldiers and contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan.
They included testimony from British man Moazzam Begg, an ex-Guantanamo detainee and Iraqi woman Jameelah Abbas Hameedi who was tortured in the notorious Abu Ghraib prison.
At the end of the week-long hearing, the five-panel tribunal unanimously delivered guilty verdicts against Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and their key legal advisors who were all convicted as war criminals for torture and cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment.

Do you really think he reads here? Or is he a hero of yours and it's hurting your feelings that people are calling him names?
And doesn't someone who goes into politics know that being criticized and being called names goes with the territory?
People who live in mobile homes and did not go into public life of any kind actually post here and read these posts and get hurt by them. You don't see any difference between posting crap about them and posting about a politician?
Passing all that, kindly point to a post of mine where I called Cheney any of those things. If you can't find one, kindly address your complaints to someone who engaged in the behavior of which you complain. Better yet, take it up with Skinner.

Maybe they would. Rude and ill-mannered after all.

Can't help but wonder why with 3 possible Republican trolls being defiant about their "right" to use the term "trailer trash," you wanted to lecture the only trying to dissuade them, gently, if possible, and more strongly, if not.

I had doubts about the accusations of the elitism and arrogance of the left until recent years. Those doubts began to evaporate based on posters like that found right here. I innocently thought those of us on the left were better than that, that we were more accepting. Boy was I wrong.

Quit using the term, trailer trash! Just because someone can't afford a 3 bedroom house doesn't mean you are allowed to use thier situation as an insult for someone you don't like.

We met a lot of very fine folks in that neighborhood, including a Ph.D. in Psychology practicing at the Menninger's Clinic in Topeka, a successful Xerox salesman, and a wonderful couple raising a daughter with hydrocephalus (who knew they would NEVER be out of debt due to the treatment costs).
Living there allowed my wife stay home with our 2 pre-school children.

I sometimes called Dimson The Dress Up President because he always had on some ridiculous outfit, like when he announced "Mission Accomplished." It was as though he and his advisors thought he was a character in a play.
Okay, now he's a pilot, wardrobe change to flight jacket. In the next scene, he'll be a Texas farmer, so lay out cowboy boots and hat, Levi's, plaid shirt, buckskin jacket.
