The reason there not enough SS to protect the WH or the President..

Many of them are being pulled off for personal reasons...the SS don't give a fuck..

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/secret-service-director-calls-for-investigation-of-operation-moonlight/2014/05/12/92012df4-d9ea-11e3-b745-87d39690c5c0_story.html

The Secret Service director has called for a full investigation into allegations that agents were improperly ordered to abandon their posts monitoring the White House complex in 2011 and sent to provide protection for a friend of the agency’s former director.

Director Julia Pierson said late Sunday that she had contacted the Department of Homeland Security’s new inspector general to request a thorough review and wanted to ensure public trust in the elite law enforcement agency. Her actions came hours after The Washington Post reported that agents in a special surveillance unit were pulled off duty for at least two months in 2011 to go an hour’s drive away to the La Plata, Md., home of the then-director’s administrative assistant.

Agents were told that Director Mark Sullivan was concerned that his assistant, a close friend, was being harassed by a neighbor in her rural community. Inside the Secret Service’s Washington field office, the reassignment was known as Operation Moonlight, and agents were concerned that it increased the security risk to the president and the White House compound.

tax dollars being used to protect someone because maybe, just maybe her neighbor was harassing her? So now the SS is a personal police force for the ex director.

I think he should be sent the bill for that, with interest.

I am rather stunned by this development and the things that are coming out now. Does Obama have to start looking over his shoulders?? I don't like what I'm hearing one bit.

And you're right about that young woman -- I forgot about her, but that's an excellent recall about that incident.

but an isolated incident does not mean there are not enough SS to protect the President. Absolutely no allegation of that at the link or evidence.

One of those new terror businesses that have cropped up and become so profitable since 911. They call themselves experts in security.

some DUers do not take this/these recent breach(es) of Presidential security as, particularly, troubling ... much like the rightwing questioned why his children should have a security detail.

Wait ... some DUers had a problem with that, too!

It's bad enough when an intruder can get over the fence onto the lawn of the WH in post 9/11 America.
But this intruder actually made it INTO the WH. Really? I have a better security system than that!

I recently returned from Dallas TX where I visited the murder scene of JFK - a moving experience for this old dog who clearly remembers just about every minute of that horrible weekend in 1963. This is not an experience I wish to relive.

The President made a point of praising the SS today when asked by the press. He better. They may have other ideas and they can realize those ideas quite easily. I'd fire the lot of them - in some countries they'd be more than fired. I learned today that the President's children and spouse had left the premises earlier than the intrusion. Still, I'd be livid if I were the President, that a organization supposedly as elite as the SS apparently can't protect my family or myself. Something really stinks here.
