Secret Service Agent Leaked Obama's Campaign Schedule

Secret Service Agent Leaked Obama's Campaign Schedule

"As scandal continues to envelop the Secret Service, InsideSources has learned of a security failure leading up to the 2012 election. Multiple sources inside the Romney presidential campaign confirm that a Secret Service agent provided details of President Obama's schedule several days prior to the President's campaign stops becoming public."

it was widely reported that for his visit to Chicago yesterday and today (economic speech at Northwestern; campaigning for Governor Quinn), Obama would be landing at the Gary, Indiana, airport rather than O'Hare or Midway. This of course is not to cause further disruptions at those airports after the fire set at the radar facility last week caused major, ongoing delays and problems. But why does the public need to know where Air Force One is landing? Yes, it's our plane, but it's not particularly need-to-know information. And the Gary airport can't be that well protected.

landed there on airforce one, but he did use our airport during his campaign flights because it's the fastest route to his house. There have been articles in our newspaper about plans to use the airport for airforce one and I must have thought that they were doing it because of those.

And damn, you're rude.

I work in Bronx Criminal Court. We have magnetometers and X ray machines. Even though I've worked there for decades a couple of the officers still ask me to show ID. Yet when we met with the President, while we were searched with a wand, they only gave a cursory look in my bag. They didn't inspect my phone. While I'm glad all my belongings weren't displayed in public ( woman's things), I wouldn't have really minded if it was.

One of my court officers said they would do a better job of protecting Obama and I believe it. It only takes one deranged tea party secret service person to do the unthinkable.

What should be one of the most protected buildings in the world had somebody
jump it's fence, run more then 50 yds to the front door, no guard dogs were
released, the person got into an unlocked door, overpower the guard at the door,
he got into and run around the building because the alarms were turned off, and was caught
because an off duty secret service agent just happened to be there.

These S.S. fuck ups might well be one more spin off from w's Presidency because
prior to 9/11 and then the Dept. of Homeland Security the Secret Service was
part of the Treasury Dept. and had two missions; Protect the President and his family
and stopping counterfeiting.

It appears they launched April 28th.

This is what I found when I looked at the Author of the article.

About the Author
Shawn McCoy
Shawn is the Publisher of InsideSources. Previously, he served as Iowa Communications Director for the Romney Campaign and has advised other campaigns nationwide. Shawn has an MBA, concentrated in econometrics and statistics, from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and he completed his undergraduate work at the University of Notre Dame. He has a dog named Milton, after his favorite economist.

In this case I completely agree with you. A healthy dose of skepticism should be used here.

The Secret Service response to this latest security breach is to request a larger secure area around the White House Complex. They want to put in random check points and just stop people who are walking around near the White House. As a life long Northern Virginia resident I have watched the federal triangle area slowly turn itself into the Green Zone. Here is a novel idea for the Secret Service, do your job right the first time and you wont have to worry about these screw ups. They fuck up and the public pays the price for their incompetence. As for political motivations the secret service officers are people too and I am sure they have their own political views. However the job of protecting any high ranking political official is supposed to be done in an apolitical manner. It appears that this is not the case.

I would swear there was a conspiracy in the Secret Service to take out the President. Maybe even the Vice President. That would make Bøner president, and it would be an easy matter to get rid of him.....then the Koch brothers could install whoever they wanted to......

Maybe there is. Time to CLEAN HOUSE. Top to bottom. The broom, please.

This reminds me of "gossip." I know this is the norm in news reporting now. But I don't care if God does this kind of reporting, I don't trust it. "Sources," "two staffers," and "former advisers."

That doesn't mean we should totally disregard what Mr McCoy (Inside Sources) says, since it concerns the SS.

All we can do now, I guess, is trust the new Director (Clancy?) to clean the effing Secret Service organization, from top to bottom. Fuck the budget. Protect the WH and it's inhabitants, visitors & correspondents, no matter what the price ticket!

Report: Secret Service Agent Leaked Obama Info to Romney Campaign :

The Secret Service might need a new name. According to the policy website InsideSources, an unnamed Secret Service agent shared several campaign itineraries, detailing the movements and whereabouts of President Obama, with campaign staff of Republican nominee Mitt Romney in late 2012.

In one particular incident at a bar in late October 2012, the Secret Service agent, who had a number of drinks during the meeting, unprompted and in an apparent attempt to impress one of the staffers, began providing details of President Obama’s schedule. The information included times and locations of the President’s events in the final days of the election. The President’s campaign would not release these details of the President’s schedule publicly until several days later

.
The author of the report, Shawn McCoy, is a former Romney campaign staffer, and says that the leaked itinerary “was not widely circulated within the Romney campaign” and “did not impact the campaign’s strategy.” He also points out that the agent was married when he “made advances towards a Romney campaign staff member.”

And from a RW ex-Romney staffer no less.

Not that I don't think the SS needs a thorough review and housecleaning, just can't get too excited about what a guy with credentials like McCoy has to say.
