"It's the only religion that acts like the mafia that will fucking kill you if you say the wrong thing, draw the wrong picture, or write the wrong book," Maher said on Friday's episode.
Affleck called the comedian's take "gross" and "racist."
After reviewing the clip, Hemmer turned to Republican consultant Tyler Harber and asked, "How do you define what's 'bigotry' and what's just reality?"
But after it became clear Harber had nothing good to say about Maher's generalizations, Hemmer interrupted and insisted his guest wasn't listening closely enough.
"I can't believe I'm defending Bill Maher here," Hemmer said.

By the end of the clip, neither guest was throwing Maher a bone, so the Fox host decided to suggest his own position more forcefully.
"You need these religious Islamic leaders, day after day not just now or occasionally day after day, saying, 'this is not what our faith stands for.'"
LOL!
'If only Fox was a news network, then we could, you know, go out and actually interview the Islamic leaders I'm talking about. But we're not, so...........'

(31,849 posts)but ... that's not what he said. Fact is, there a plenty of "religions"/groups killing in the name of their gods. To single on out is chauvinistic and bigoted.

Look at the polls in Britain, number who want sharia law implemented and come back to me
Spazito
(50,440 posts)lol on your sharia law polls. If you have a credible poll, please provide a link and, fyi, I don't consider the Telegraph a credible source.

(30,151 posts)It should have been clear to you-
but it's just a couple bad apples...Funny how they keep taking over cities. I guess just one or two dudes have to stay beind so the couple other fundies can take over the next one.

(30,151 posts)And the ratio of christian normal vs christian fundie is a lot lower than muslim normal vs muslim fundie-
Sorry but that is the truth-
Last week we heard about buddhist fundies in India-
A fucking fundie is a fucking fundie regardless of religion, they all suck ass you agree right?

(2,345 posts)they claimed that some unnamed poll showed 90% of respondents in Egypt favored execution as a penalty for religious apostasy.
The poll was never identified. The group who conducted it was never identified. The number of respondents was never given -- we don't know whether this was a poll of 100 people or 100,000 -- and no details were given about who the respondents were or how they were chosen. Were they all men? Men and women? Members of a particular group or party?
From this single poll result generated in one predominantly-Muslim country, Maher and Harris inexplicably concluded that the vast majority of the world's 1.6 billion Muslims also believe people should be killed for leaving the faith, or drawing irreverant cartoons, etc., etc. If there were any statistics presented to support this conclusion besides a single poll of an unidentified sample size in Egypt, I sure didn't hear it.
Now what were you saying about unimpeachable facts and statistics?
