Where I live, we have progressives in every legislative seat, both state and federal. That's a good thing. Where you live, that may not be the case, and that's not a good thing. I hope that this election will prove to be one where the place you live makes progress toward electing progressives to office. If the best you can do is to elect a Democrat who is less than progressive, that will do just fine, since just about every Democrat will vote with the Democratic Caucus. Any Democrat will be better than any Republican. That's certain.
Anyhow, good luck with your local election. If you can, try to bring others to the polls who share your viewpoints. Drag them there if you have to, but do all you can to increase the number of Democratic voters in your individual precinct or community. The election will be here and gone before you know it. Anything you do to help GOTV will help turn the election. If enough Democrats turn out, just about anywhere, Democrats will win. Even in red states, districts exist where the election can create a new seat for a Democrat.

(15,806 posts)we're drowning in ads paid for by Rove and the Kochs. We're fighting to keep Mark Udall in the senate, and his opponent, Cory Gardner, is being heavily promoted in print and on the airwaves by those massive rightwing PACs.
They are also trying to buy the governor's office, and have even poured roughly $500K into one of our local races for the state legislature.
This isn't politics. It's poison.

(146,317 posts)There are so many close races that need to be watched. My choice of antacids, though, is Gaviscon. Works great.

Wait a second..from your posts you seem like an intelligent, caring, insightful person. No, the chances are it's not Florida.
Ps: I'm working to change the state though..

BTW, I corrected that typo. Thanks!

Always vote- even if there is no opposing candidate. It is how we show our strength of support.
