October 29, 2014
"The Weather Channel has released an official position statement on global warming, just two days after the channels co-founder told Fox News Megyn Kelly that climate change is based on bad science and does not exist.
In the statement, The Weather Channel said the planet is indeed warming, with temperatures increasing 1 to 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit in the last 100 years. The statement acknowledged that humans are helping make the planet warmer due to the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation. It says the future effects of climate change will be more negative than positive.
The bottom line is that with the rate of greenhouse gas emissions increasing, a significant warming trend is expected to also continue, the Weather Channels statement reads."

(10,252 posts)I can forgive someone for being stupid and ignorant, because ignorance is correctable. But integrity? Much more difficult to correct that problem. That guy knows perfectly well that climate change is for real, but he chooses to lie about the science, because his bank account holds his integrity hostage. Very sad, very sad.

He will in all likelihood be one of the first to "discover" the effects of climate change.

(10,495 posts)system ASAP, so that we can take the necessary actions to save our planet, we are doomed! We need Publicly Funded Elections to do this! Once we have it, is imperative that we bust up the media oligopolies and get control of the message away from big business. The time for half measures and relying on our Democratic politicians to do this is past. They are owned, for the most part, by the same interests that own the Republicans.

(10,252 posts)The oligarchs will move to Switzerland, the Andes, the Himalayas, the Rockies, etc and control the water supply, and the temperate valleys for agriculture. Then they will sell us water. How's that for a conspiracy theory?
