Chris Christie blows his top after angry constituent confronts him at press conference

?1414693832

New Jersey's biggest bully, Gov. Chris Christie turned up for a press conference yesterday and had a surprising spat with a New Jersey man who turned up to tell Christie he needs to do more for residents who are still displaced from their homes after Hurricane Sandy.
Watch the tense confrontation below the fold.

Christie, who showed up for the cameras and the spotlight, chastised the man for showing up for the cameras and the spotlight:

I'll be more than happy to have a debate with you anytime you'd like, guy. Because someone like you doesn't know a damn thing you're talking about except to show up when the cameras are here and show off. […]

So, listen, you want to have that conversation later buddy, I'd be happy to have it. But until that time, sit down and shut up! […]

(Man offers to meet him to talk about it later)

I'll tell you, there's about a thousand things I'll do tonight, going to dinner with you is about number one thousand and one.

Number 1, you don't get to hear what the other person is saying, but his calm demeanor is in stark contrast to Christie's bombast. Second, it's a little surprising to see Christie using his bully routine against a man, but Christie appears to have plenty of back-up, so I'm sure he felt safe. Third, the crowd applauds Christie so much that Christie repeats himself several times, just to get another jolt of applause (at least, that's how it seemed to me). Fourth, Christie flat out lies, promising several times that he would be happy to meet with the other person anytime; when the other guy proposes dinner that very evening (which would appear to fit under the definition of "anytime&quot , Christie blows him off.

This is what passes for a front-runner for the Republican nomination for president.

But apparently the guy with the sign has been working pretty diligently on relief efforts for superstorm Sandy, and isn't terribly impressed with the response from the Governor or his office in terms of assisting the relief workers. That might explain why Christie is so defensive in this clip, and even goes to the extreme position of claiming that he has been working on Sandy relief when the cameras and reporters aren't around. That little comment spurred a request from other citizens to the Governor's office to detail all those times when Christie was out there working on relief efforts.

I haven't heard whether the Governor's office has responded, but if I had to guess how many times Christie has been out of his office working on relief efforts without a coterie of cameras and reporters along to document it, I'd put the over/under at 1 and I'd take the under.

This guy is a business man in NJ and spent months helping other clean up and try to recover after Sandy. He was on TV later in the evening and he confirms that Gov. Christie is holding over $800, million in fed sandy aid. That amount was again confirmed on TV last night. Christie has not helped those in real need. He has fired 2 groups he chose to distribute the money and they took most of that when Christie fired them. One area Christie helped was the least affected part of NJ that received some 2 million in aid.
Gov. Christie is a true LIER, and the fact can be google as to what he has done. He may be another NJ Governor in prison in the future. NJ voters tend to elect the most criminal of people to lead them. Several NJ Governor are or have been in Prison.
The future will tell us what happens to this guy.

empathy for the poor guy who is being insulted in Christie's ugly way.

Watch him. It's a few minutes in after the man with the sign responds to Christie. It isn't real noticeable. But you will see a slight change in the look in his eyes. A bit of compassion. Is that possible in anyone around Christie?

Christie's wife is just as mean as he is. A sadist.

I wonder what the two of them do on their date nights. Sit across from each other at dinner and trade insults. I hate to be so personal. But Christie doesn't hate getting personal at all, so why should I?

How can Christie stand himself? And the crowd cheers. Boy, that makes my ideas about New Jersey fall even lower than they are.

There are some nice people in New Jersey. What are they doing to stop Christie's sheer nastiness.
