They get into screaming matches and nobody gets heard. There is no rational discourse. They need a referee.
I won't watch it when they scream at each other.

I spent twenty years listening to people talk and taking it down in shorthand in court, for a living.

If they were in court, the court reporter would have to stop them and tell them "one at a time" in order to get a usable transcript to be sent up to the appellate court on appeal. However, those rules don't apply on TV, and with all the rudeness and interruptions, nobody gets heard properly.

<--urge to kill lawyers and witnesses who talk over each other.

I'm convinced that nobody really thinks that real clear speech needs to be heard, because of the screaming TV shows and commercials with annoying background music, or some stupid plunky piano or rap beat in the background.

It's just not entertaining enough for hyperactive America to listen to someone speaking plainly with no background music or some sort of rapidly moving graphics for people to look at. Or both.

I would really like to hear what he has to say. Does he have out a new book?

I <3 him.

Unfortunately, Wes Clark barely made two or three comments. The last comment he made (on climate change) was only because Maher prompted him! Disappointing.

I did love his tie, though!
