NY 21st congressional district getting ready to send a Backmann replacement

to Congress.

This district is the about the size of Vermont & NH combined and borders Vermont.

She will be one of the youngest and richest in Congress, the beat goes on.

when the populous southern part of Oswego County was cut off and attached to Syracuse. I think that makes sense - we're in the same television broadcast area and the big paper here is the Syracuse Post Standard. It also makes for a district that could go either way at election time depending on the candidate.

But the new 21st! Most of it covers the Adirondack Park, which is very sparsely populated. We're talking about an area which considers the tea Party to be a leftist organization.

Republican Elise Stefanik is running as a small businesswoman, which means she has a "job" at her family's plywood plant in between working for national Republcans like George Bush and Paul Ryan.

I don't see her as another Michelle Bachmann, more a generic Republican who looks good but is an empty suit.
