Any organization that emails me today for money will never get another penny from me

Because that is a pure sign they are just using the election as a premise to raise loot, preying on those of us who actually give a damn. No money donated today can affect the outcome. So anybody begging today shows us what they have been up to all along.

I might make an exception for individual candidates, because many of them will have bills to pay in the weeks ahead -- but I'll be damned if I will ever support a general fund-raising organization that tries to fund-raise today to "win this election".

1. What if they are an advocacy group? I mean they still want to be able to advocate for their issues

How do I say I am on Social Security, just had two operations, just do not have the money this year. I am being made to feel guilty,
non caring etc. There is no way to explain to all of these groups that it is impossible to give to everyone unless I was a 1% person. Now I am sorry for the times when I was able to give and did. My name has been passed around to every living Democrat running for something and almost every Charity leaning Democratic. I did give twice this year and that is it even if we all fall into a black hole.

The same way I'd look at a charity. You can easily find out which charities are fund raising scams paying their insiders hundreds of thousands (or millions) a year. It isn't so easy to find that out about PACs.

The crooks are not all on the other side.

This election season has been ridiculous. We need transparency. We need to know which groups are actually making good use of our money.

Maybe I should simplify and say I won't give money to any group that isn't prepared to show me how effective they are with the money.

Folks are free to do whatever they want with their money, I have no issue if they choose to donate. But this is my choice. I would rather spend my money on myself, family and friends.

No offense intended, but you are expressing a rather Republican philosophy.

I enjoy politics. Have voted in every single election on every single level, primary and GE, since I was 18.
I have volunteered in the past, I just decided a few years ago that I would no longer donate to candidates. My money, my choice.
I feel you can be involved in the political process without having to donate.
