It's been quite a week

I turned 59 Tuesday, only to wake up to the Dems losing the Senate and more seats in the House.

Thursday I had to put my cat down. She was 20 years old and I'm still scarred from that.

My turning older isn't a problem. I'm wiser. I've learned a lot and am still learning.

Losing the Senate isn't really a problem, Republicans are racist idiots and their numbers/supporters are dwindling. Enough said.

Losing my cat is still a problem, but I'm secure with the knowledge that I gave her a very good life and she knew she was loved. My last moments with her were used to reinforce that to her. I told her that over and over again.

But the day that I had my cat put down, I was going through some old correspondence. I had a lot of mail that I had not gone through after I lost my daughter as it was too painful for me at that time. I needed a distraction.

Lo and behold, I found a sympathy card that was mailed to me shortly after my daughter died. A card from a troll who frequents DU. This card gloated about my daughter's death (in 2012) and basically said I deserved it because of my hatred of conservatives.

Oh boy. Talk about a double edged sword.

However, I do have hope for the future.

And that card validates my belief.

Conservatives are a bunch of fucked up in the head haters. They will destroy themselves well before they destroy us.

Sorry to learn about your cat...20 years to have and love a cat...I know how much you will miss her.

As for the scumbag who sent you that card..well, I can't really say what I want to about that troll. But it boggles the mind to learn of someone so full of hate that they would go out, spend money on a card and stamp, go through the trouble of mailing it just to spew some screwed up message of hate. Damn! That person must have many sleepless nights.

18. I am so sorry to read this

It is so difficult to say goodbye to a pet, especially one that has lived in your home for years. I can't imagine the loss of a daughter, but I am sure it is something one never gets over but eventually settles for just trying to live with. As far as the person that sent you that card, brush it off. That terribly mean person doesn't need to invade your life, so throw away the card and delete this from your memory.
