The Koch Bros have the feel of a classic James Bond villain(s). The problem is that the majority of the American People for one don't really know they exist or that they are a threat to the very core of this country.
The question is how do we communicate that to this majority of people?
My solution is that a Hollywood film (not a documentary) but a full fledged Hollywood blockbuster film by a top named studio with A List stars needs to be made. I see a James Bond film featuring two brothers working to undermine this country and James Bond (Daniel Craig or his ilk) to save us from them.
Once the film becomes a hit - then it becomes known to the masses of people that came out to see it and make it a hit - that it was based on real life villains and that we need to take them out - through voting - to save this country.
I'm afraid that for many of the people in this country that are hooked on reality based programs - this is the only way to get through to them. We have to make comparisons to Hollywood based characters to get people to see the light.

(15,189 posts)It's comedy gold along with serious shit. All the outtakes of "The Stupid" would have filled a 2 hour movie. We maybe could have won if they showed people the "real" person they were going to vote for. But here we are under GOP rule.

(25,247 posts)by this time I'm sure that the writers are running out of ideas for villains. The Koch Bros are good fodder for creating a villain.
Certainly Hollywood is known to be aligned more with Progressives/Liberals. This shouldn't be too much of a stretch for them to do. The problem is getting such a movie out before Nov 2016.

(146,308 posts)I don't think any of them really influenced politics in any measurable way, though. I doubt that the film you're describing would, either. It might be a good film, and it might be entertaining, but it probably wouldn't affect the 2016 election much. What you suggest has been done a number of times. I don't think any of the previous political films actually caused any changes, though.

The bros were also partial inspiration for the Trading Places brothers. Kochs have been around a long time.

(25,247 posts)that can be done to this country by guys like the Koch's. Also - those two pictures were comedies. IMHO a James Bond thriller is a better way to get the point across. It is a more serious approach. One that highlights the results of such a villain(s) if not stopped.

(45,319 posts)I agree with Mel Brooks, who said this: "Rhetoric does not get you anywhere, because Hitler and Mussolini are just as good at rhetoric. But if you can bring these people down with comedy, they stand no chance."

That said, "It's a wonderful life" did a fantastic
job of beating "Potters" back into their caves,
for a while.
And comedy... satire and comedy have a wonderful
disinfecting effect on republican creeps.
