Republicans have no idea what they are going to do legislatively...

That is not something they have given a whole lot of thought to, in my opinion.

They are good at attacking Obama and the Democrats. That is how they won the election. They had given no thought to actually passing bills. It has never interested them.

So, after the election, they automatically reverted back to their old ways. Attack Obama. Blame someone for "poisoning the well". Blame someone else for playing with fire. It was good of the President to remind them that nothing was stopping them from passing legislation.

But it's a tough habit to break. They haven't had to accept any responsibility for quite some time. Now they are going to have to pass a budget and appropriate money for wars and the prevention of disease and such. They simply do not know what they are doing.

Maybe someone else can do it for them so they can stand back and criticize? They will feel much more comfortable by doing that.

I keep on hearing on DU that the Republicans are bad, but at least they stand for something. What do they stand for is they can't come up with a legislative agenda?

Pass unacceptable, extremist legislation that the President has to veto. Repeat, and keep repeating the meme that the only reason things 'don't get done' in Washington is because of Obama's obstruction. That way 2016 can be played as a "let's get DC functioning again , elect a republican president". Same strategy as the last election. The media will go along with this.

Proclaiming Republicans the "Party of No" is about to bite us on the behind.

Sadly, I don't really know how to prevent Republicans from gaining such leverage in the short-term.

Every Democratic Lawmaker needs to be on message about this, whenever a mic is put in front of them. Be clear, succinct, and brutally honest.

they are telegraphing their strategy loud and clear- and early. They will find SOME reason to blame him for them not getting what they want done.

get into power and screw everything up. Just about the time the country is about to be destroyed, the public wakes up and put the democrats in to clean up the republican mess. In the mean time republicans sit on their hemorrhoid asses and point their shit stained fingers at the democrats. So the public puts in the republicans. Over and Over again.

that has finally caught it. What they will do with it is anybody's guess. We will undoubtedly get a repeal vote or two or three or 50 (can they make it an even 100 eventually?) on ACA and, likely, a vote on Keystone XL. Other than that, I really don't know what else to expect other than additional attempts to defund agencies that they don't like through the budget process. McConnell and Boehner are likely to be undermined by Cruz and other bombthrowers in the House and Senate. Their own efforts may be doomed by their own caucuses.

And then blame Obama for the insuing gridlock and government shutdowns. These fuckers are political terrorists ready to hold the country hostage.
