Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has called on church leaders to support the government in its fight against homosexuality.
In a speech at the weekend read for him by the Minister of Security, Muruli Mukasa, President Museveni said that any clergy who presides over a wedding of a gay couple should be blacklisted and isolated from the Church of Uganda.
Note: the Church of Uganda he mentions is a member of the Anglican Communion. Here is its website: http://churchofuganda.org/

(16,286 posts)I can tell they pretty much want to kill Gay people too.
Sometimes I watch these crappy preacher shows, because you have to know your enemy, and I see people like Rod Parsley and whatnot, going psychotic whenever marriage equality wins in another state. It's so sad. I get frightened sometimes, and think about moving out of the country, but I don't have enough money.

(23,340 posts)The Uganda Anti-Homosexuality Act, 2014 (previously called the "Kill the Gays bill" in the western mainstream media due to the originally proposed death penalty clauses)[1][2][3][4][5] was passed by the Parliament of Uganda on 20 December 2013 with the death penalty proposal dropped in favour of life in prison. The bill was signed into law by the President of Uganda on 24 February 2014.[6][7]
