Wal-Mart scammed into selling PlayStation 4 for $90

"
However, any Amazon member with a registered selling account can create authentic–looking pages and list items "for sale" online. Consumers need only take a screen capture of the page and show it to a cashier at checkout in order to request the price match.

Wal-Mart's online price match policy states, "We're committed to providing low prices every day, on everything. So if you find a current lower online price from an online retailer on an identical, in-stock product, tell us and we'll match it."

Few employees appear to have verified the legitimacy of these online deals as many customers were able to purchase gaming systems for $90. "

He was printing UPC symbols and sticking them on the PS boxes, buying them for like $39. If memory serves, he obtained over half a dozen before he stopped, but I don't think he was ever caught.

I wouldn't be surprised if they made an example of her.

Walmart sues shoplifters in civil court after pressing criminal charges. Found that out the hard way when my mostly good kid dumbfuck nephew and his dumbfuck friends got caught shoplifting $8 dollar pocket knives. My brother received a demand letter from Walmart for $250 dollars. Most states have minimum awards of $200-250 ish or 3 times the merchandise value. They even went after one of the kids who was with them but didn't have anything on him.

Walmart has lawyers laying around with nothing better to do. I wouldn't advertise my scams if I were them.

Little old ladies falling down on wet aisles and tell them "fuck you" over medical bills for broken bones. I know this from personal experience with a relative. And employees wouldn't even call an ambulance for her.

walmart is serial in its crimes - and nobody EVER goes to jail for them - then they pay people to re-write laws to not make them crimes anymore - doesn't make them less immoral

so they got taken - Boo-Fucking-Hoo

these people could be prosecuted

meanwhile walmart proceeds to rape our society and use our tax dollars to subsidize their workers pay

You are free to endorse this sort of vigilante theft, but then you have no basis to complain when someone burns your house down because he claims that you side-swiped his car. We aren't permitted to commit a crime even against even a known criminal.

Any "yeah, but..." justification that you offer will simply be a bogus rationalization.

I'm simply not comfortable surrendering the rule of law to anyone who decides that a law doesn't apply to them.

The vile actions of a huge multinational corporation do not justify theft or fraud by an individual citizen.

No doubt... we should immediately imprison the cancer patient in Texas ingesting medical marijuana to ease her pain and help her appetite-- as she obviously believes the rule of law doesn't apply to her.

First - you are applauding a crime, the same type of crime you would be screaming about if it were Wall Street doing the same thing.
Second - This will cost you! As a consumer, you pay for the losses companies have from theft. They just pass the loss on in the built in price increases.

So keep cheering the criminals and paying the price.

Wages cut? Builds character! strengthens the economy!
Prices gouged? makes a competitive market!
Benefits slashed? secures dividends! Keeps you employed!
CEO pay is 400x employee pay? Rewards for hard work! Keeps the company afloat!

A worker-abusing shithole business lost $380 on the sale of a product constructed for eight bucks via sweatshop labor. It's theft, yes. But I have no tears when slavedrivers and exploiters don't get the full return they expected.

($310 / U) / X, where U is total units of merchandise at the store and X is the number of buyers at that store?

Wait no, you said "you and I" and I don't think either of us shop at this particular outlet. So then, U is total units of merchandize owned by Wal-Mart, and X is total number of Wal-mart shoppers worldwide.

But wait! Wal-Mart has insurance to cover thefts. For a gigantic mega-business like this, can't imagine petty thefts hike the premiums by any amount that can be calculated outside of fractions of cents.

You and I are already paying lot of Wal-Mart's costs. I don't even shop there and I pay for them. I'll chip in an extra thousandth of a cent for someone to give them the finger.

Ever seen someone walk out of a nursing home with three corned beef briskets, eight blocks of cheddar cheese, and one potato (why? Why one potato?) crammed into their pants? Like, literally, crammed in there like each of their legs is the elephant man?

What goes on at Wal-Mart would not surprise me. make me chuckle and shake my head, maybe.

Point is, the loss gets so dispersed with businesses this large, that it has no impact on honest shoppers.
