So, the Drunk Girl in Public vid was a hoax?

https://www.yahoo.com/news/drunk-girl-in-public-jennifo-box-speaks-video-175133259.html

The men in the video were actors and so was the woman in the video. It never rang true to me. The vast majority of men aren t like that. The whole thing was just an elaborate excuse to engage in male bashing and so many here fell for it.

Some of you who were so quick to believe that video and to believe the worst need to do some reflection.

but this video is fake and stupid. More than likely, it was a purposeful troll created to compliment the cat-calling video, and its intention was to get as many views / make as much money for the producers as possible. They likely didn't care that everyone involved would have their reputations tarnished. More O'Keefe-style gutter 'journalism' with no integrity.

There were two guys sitting on a couch groping a passed out girl. Seven or eight guys were watching. No one stopped it. It was a good old time for them. They said some pretty nasty things as I forcefully shoved the two men away from her. You see, some of us have been a victim of or witnessed things like this or worse. It was not just a random guy, it was a porch full of sick and abusive assholes. Every last one of them. Before you claim your genius on something like this, you might want to ask yourself why it is believable to some of us. Because some of us have seen what can happen even when groups of men are together. Try stepping outside of your comfort zone and understanding the experiences others go through.

When you see that video you feel the need to tell everyone it is fake. When I see it I see the reality of the world we live in. Just because I didn't have a camera that night on the porch doesn't mean it didn't happen. These things are real. The only thing you have found here is a reflection of yourself. Your need to deny instead of discuss the societal issues it addresses.

except to show that you can't believe everything you see.

In fact they can often hurt the cause they profess to be helping (if found out).

Hoax videos are a common technique used on the right, just look at their poster boy James O'Keefe.

It pays to be careful and verify every piece of information because hoaxes can be used against us.

However, I haven't seen the video in question so maybe it was a staged event designed to promote discussion, rather than a hoax, just like the video of the Syrian boy rescuing a girl from a sniper that was made by a Norwegian filmmaker.

MRA members will use this video to shout "It never rang true to me." They will attempt to use the video to prove themselves right. Reality goes completely against that thought process.

They are going to do that anyway so I have no fear of it. The op could have found countless videos showing the true problems women face in society including this one. That is not their agenda. The points in my original post still stand one hundred percent.

PSA's are not real with respect to the direct images many of them often display. Doesn't mean it they are some type of gotcha that is being used here. The thought process is exactly the same.
