Jon Stewart to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi: "You go girl. Seriously...you should go."

Video at link.

Sadly, I have to agree. She has been a great leader for women's rights, but she needs to move on. Sadly, it will not be before 2016 now.

BTW, it is not a thing, it is a series of things she said, it is her sense of entitlement. And I would say the same thing about men behaving the same way (starting by McConnell).

Pelosi and Reid clinging to their legislative 'leadership' positions ... and their members going along ... is just so emblematic of so many of the things regular folks see as wrong with our national politics and government.

I thought 'failing upward' was mostly a G.W. Bush administration phenomenon, but it appears to have infected all areas of Washington.

Pelosi and Reid have done good things in the past and have been important leaders; but, there comes a time in the face of reality that it is nobler to move on and let others lead.

Looking at the Democrats in the U.S. Senate and House makes me sad ... they just don't get how America is changing and how we need new, different and more progressive leaders and policies.

She dismissed them, talked down to them. I remember reading an article from someone who had known her a long time, after watching her respond to voters at a talk she was giving. They used to be friends, she said the Nancy she was watching now was nothing like the person she had known and respected in the past.

Maybe it's staying too long in DC. Maybe they should go there for one term, do what they promised to do without fear of losing, and if they lose, go home knowing they have done the job they were elected to do. But I have a feeling that if they actually did that, they would be reelected. Though that should not be a reason for doing what is right.

Reid may be affective behind closed doors, but he's a lousy speaker.

I can't remember the last time I saw any fire from Pelosi. Both are riding out their time in luxury and power.

I was reading a book by Lee Child the other day and the lead character Jack Reacher was discussing politicians and said they all suffer from "Beltway Disease." The fact that they are so wrapped up in how to do things in Washington that they have no idea what things are like for regular people. They have spent so much time in that world that the real world doesn't really exist for them anymore.

He was right.

She's my Representative. Sure, she votes correctly (i.e., party line) but I don't remember when was the last time she campaigned...or held a town hall...or communicated with her constituents.

She has more money than god and people are acting as if there is some shock to her appearing entitled. Kind of funny to see posters acting as if she just became wealthy. She is a one percenter. That being said, she truly is great at her job. I am not sure if the ACA would have passed without her and her team. They were given a monumental task and accomplished it. I don't think that people get the White Houses involvement in the ACA. It was different than a lot of legislation. It is why it is referred to as ObamaCare. Pelosis job was to pass something enormous that very few people knew anything about. All of the people around here talking about the ACA as if it was something great yet they say the person who had to pull the wool over the voters eyes to increase its popularity and get it passed is getting shit on. Overall she has been good at keeping dems together in the house on votes. Do you think that she will be replaced with someone left of her? I don't think all that many in congress are left of her. She has done well for us. Perfect? no.

"Earlier in the show, while talking about Jonathan Gruber and the Affordable Care Act, he said of Pelosi: "Can you ever not not disappoint us?""

Really kind of an asshole thing for Stewart to say. But things like that have lined his pockets with millions and millions over the years. Sorry Jon, my memory is a little better than yours. Pelosi has not not disappointed me plenty of times.
