One of Ireland’s most prominent anti-abortion activists has been found guilty of harassing the head of Belfast’s Marie Stopes clinic.

A judge at the city’s magistrates court warned the Precious Life director Bernadette Smyth that she could face jail for her protests against the former Progressive Unionist party leader Dawn Purvis and the clinic.

The deputy district judge Chris Holmes said the campaign of harassment had been carried out “in a vicious and malicious fashion”.

Smyth was told she would have to pay compensation and would be barred from the area around the clinic on Great Victoria Street in Belfast.

to fume and sulk I'd like to mention that the Brits don't have a "1st Amendment", that their action in this case is perfectly legal and that I'm damn glad they dealt with it as they did.

Also, not all speech is protected in this country and at times the authorities have been Draconian in their suppression of certain forms of speech.

So, yeah...

and murder people who run or work at abortion clinics in the USA. Contrary to the views of the lunatics and those who use them, abortion is legal.

It's legal and Republicans utilize the service just as much as progressives, but they love inciting feeble-minded puritans with the issue because they get metric fuck-tonnes of cash from the gullible jerkoffs who really think they can skate around Roe V.
