Ferguson Prosecutor Robert McCulloch Gives Bizarre Press Conference

(yes that is the original headline)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/11/24/bob-mcculloch-ferguson_n_6215986.html

St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCulloch announced on Monday night that Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson would not be indicted for the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown in a press conference that many found baffling, unwieldy and inflammatory.

McCulloch said the grand jury "gave up their lives" while deliberating.

The prosecutor also repeatedly lashed out at the media, blaming the internet and "the 24-hour news cycle" for the unrest in Ferguson, Missouri, where Brown was shot and killed in August. He continued talking for several minutes before revealing the much-anticipated grand jury decision.

“The most significant challenge encountered in this investigation has been the 24-hour news cycle and its insatiable appetite for something, for anything to talk about, following closely behind with the non-stop rumors on social media,” he said.

Mike Brown. He's dead. He will never graduate college, get married or have children. That's giving up your fucking life.

Very angry, very sad, very frustrated. Injustice prevailed every step of the way, every damn step.

I expected no charges because of the tainted process but the press conference by the prosecutor was enraging, his lies, everything he said and his demeanor while saying it, arrogant.

I can only hope this is the catalyst for REAL change but even that is already diminishing rapidly.

And it will be the same with the 12yo murdered in Cleveland and the 28 year old murdered in NYC. It has been the same all 55 years of my life. So when assholes here lecture me about 'waiting for facts' and 'respecting the legal process' and 'the rule of law' I just laugh, a bitter laugh. Because I am Black. Because I am black, I know someone who died in police custody. Because I am black, I risked my life to cuss the fuck out of two cops who racially profiled me. There is not a single black person in America who is surprised by this desicion. And we won't be surprised when the next white cop walks. It will be the one who killed the 12yo who was "armed" with a BB gun, according to an apologist here.
