1. Savannah questions how the parents can explain the father's angry statements at the protest.
2. In less than a few minutes Savannah is acting all happy and silly about people in Russia pushing a plane
3. Matt asks the group of medical people if it was God's will that they got ebola
W.T.F. is wrong with our media today? I feel like venting to the Today show on all this

(15,035 posts)Watch a clueless fool's idea of a "news" show and they'll conclude you agree with their idiotic approach.
It will only change when we refuse to participate in what offends us.

(35,675 posts)"Today" is in a tailspin right now, having recently fired a top programming exec for whom they had high hopes. Unfortunately this exec pitted one host against another, eroding any team spirit the group had.
Furthermore, Tamron and Natalie are at odds. Natalie needs to go. She has no charisma and makes too many embarrassing, stupid remarks. I will never forget how she threw her father under the bus for being a cheapskate. Things like that need not be said on air, especially to parents who were probably quite supportive of her.
I have had to tune them out, and I was a loyal viewer. Now I just check out GMA and CBS, and occasionally check in at Today. For the most part, though, I have given up morning TV and listen to the BBC via NPR for my news. I am sort of enjoying a resurgence of the hard copy newspaper, too. This a.m. I read the NY Times that way.
Too bad for "Today." My opinion counts, and I mean that literally.
I'll say no more, but I am sure you can figure it out, heh.

Timmy will give use the recipe and the Russians pushing the plane can enjoy God's gift to soup!" "Back to Savannah. Oh, that sounds like a song. Come on Savannah. Lets sing our way to a commercial. 'Oh Savannah, Don't you cry for me, For I'm going to commercial La la la la la lee.'

You should vent to them. Not sure it would help, but it wouldn't hurt.

(65,616 posts)Objective news reporting died long ago in the M$M...all they care about is getting paid and keeping really important stuff (like protests that make the establishment uncomfortable) out of the news cycle.
We traded investigative journalists for (BARF) political pundits. We traded objective reasoning, for subjective bullshit.

(718 posts)I watch Free Speech TV in the morning. Stephanie Miller and then Thom Hartmann are much more informative and interesting, plus there are no commercials.
