Dana Siegelman, the daughter of former Gov. Don Siegelman, was released from a California hospital last week after being struck by a hit-and-run driver.
Les Siegelman, Dana Siegelmans uncle and the former governors brother, said Monday Dana Siegelman was struck while biking home from her job on Nov. 16. According to the family, Dana Siegelman was wearing reflective gear at the time of the accident.
Marlene Arrona, a spokeswoman for the Long Beach Police Department, said Monday a hit-and-run collision took place at 5:20 p.m. on Nov. 16. The investigation is still ongoing, she said, and no arrests have been made.
Siegelman was hospitalized and went through two surgeries last week, according to Les Siegelman, and will require the use of a wheelchair for a number of weeks.
Were just grateful that she didnt suffer more serious injures, Les Siegelman said. Her helmet was split.

(55,745 posts)U.S. Judge Mark E. Fuller, the guy who helped railroad Gov. Don Siegelman.
Fuller just happens to be the owner of a company that's made a huge fortune off the Pentagon and War Inc via no-bid crony War on Terror largesse.
The Pork Barrel World of Judge Mark Fuller
By Scott Horton
Harper's August 6, 2007, 5:14 pm
For the last week, weve been examining the role played by Judge Mark Everett Fuller in the trial, conviction, and sentencing of former Alabama Governor Don E. Siegelman. Today, we examine a post-trial motion, filed in April 2007, asking Fuller to recuse himself based on his extensive private business interests, which turn very heavily on contracts with the United States Government, including the Department of Justice.
The recusal motion rested upon details about Fullers personal business interests. On February 22, 2007, defense attorneys obtained information that Judge Fuller held a controlling 43.75% interest in government contractor Doss Aviation, Inc. After investigating these claims for over a month, the attorneys filed a motion for Fullers recusal on April 18, 2007. The motion stated that Fullers total stake in Doss Aviation was worth between $1-5 million, and that Fullers income from his stock for 2004 was between $100,001 and $1 million dollars.
In other words, Judge Fuller likely made more from his business income, derived from U.S. Government contracts, than as a judge. Fuller is shown on one filing as President of the principal business, Doss Aviation, and his address is shown as One Church Street, Montgomery, Alabama, the address of the Frank M. Johnson Federal Courthouse, in which his chambers are located.

Doss Aviation and its subsidiaries also held contracts with the FBI. This is problematic when one considers that FBI agents were present at Siegelmans trial, and that Fuller took the extraordinary step of inviting them to sit at counsels table throughout trial. Moreover, while the case was pending, Doss Aviation received a $178 million contract from the federal government.

(62,325 posts)dared to question them. I believe Siegelman was one of them.
We know what they did to Valerie Plame because her husband told the truth about 'yellow cake from Niger', so NOTHING would or should surprise anyone.
Where was Karl Rove that day?
I know I am a bit biased about all this, but Rove is always my #1 Suspect.

(55,981 posts)Now the very active daughter gets hit by a hit and run driver. At least she wasn't suicide'd. Or her car mysteriously ran into a tree.

(62,325 posts)with that is the question.
How sad is it that Democrats will not step forward and end this horrific injustice. I can only imagine how betrayed Siegelman must feel.
If he was a Republican, see Ted Stevens, there is now way he would be in jail.
Makes me wonder what is wrong, are they being threatened, is there something we don't know?
This is definitely one of the most tragic miscarriages of justice in this country.

(55,981 posts)is a real disappointment to me. My conspiratorial mind thinks this is something bigger than the president.

(62,325 posts)problems with the prosecution and simply ignore even MORE problems with Siegelman's prosecutor and judge and those who drove the whole thing.
Makes you wonder, has there been a right wing 'coup' in this country?

(55,981 posts)It's obvious to me that during the Bush Lost Decade there were all the trappings for a coup. 9/11 (Cheney's Pearl Harbor) provided the cover for unlimited and unregulated expansion of the Security State. There was zero oversight for sure during the Bush years. I bet when Obama came to office he was greeted by a Security State that he could do nothing about. The Group or Cabal or whatever we should call them really don't like Gov Siegelman.
I can go on but I won't. I don't think we can prevail over this Cabal. It may be international and they don't need our middle class for anything except our financial resources. They are not patriotic to the USofA. Sorry, some random thoughts.

(62,325 posts)always do, abuse the power they took. History is full of these periods, but in the end, they don't really last very long. And I think that is why they are so desperate, the know that. So whenever the people take to the streets, no matter how peaceful, they react with violence and anger. See OWS and now Ferguson. That is a sign of fear imo.
