The difference it makes in a child's psyche to be loved and accepted in moments like these. I mean, just imagine the difference in the experience this young man had opening up to his parents vs. the shame administered by less enlightened parents.
We may not always be able to point to the moments when we began to feel comfortable in our own skin, but I'll wager this young man will bear the fruits of his parents love for a lifetime.
