Landrieu Says Democrats Abandoned Her

Landrieu Says Democrats Abandoned Her

December 3, 2014
By Taegan Goddard

Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) “lobbed a barb at the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Tuesday, saying they effectively abandoned her after the Nov. 4 midterm election,” the Washington Post reports.

Said Landrieu: “I am extremely disappointed in the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. I’ve said that. You know, they just walked away from this race.”

in our states. If she had asked for Democratic Party support like everyone else - applying to the committee for it instead of presenting a bill that she knew full well most of the rest of the party do not support it would have been okay. But what she was doing is asking my Senators to betray me so she can get elected. I am wondering if she really thought that all of us would just bend over for her on a bill we all consider very important. Is she that much out of touch with the rest of the US?

Dec 2014

She's voted for Senate leadership/President Obama over 90% of the time, including putting her career at stake and voting for the ACA.

Some of the comments in this thread are just plain ignorant.

Landrieu votes with us approximately 90% of the time, votes for a Democrat to be majority leader of the Senate, votes for almost all key pieces of Democratic legislation, etc, etc. And she has done this from a state that would/will be represented by a Republican who will probably never, ever vote with us. So what is better? Having a Senator with us 90% of the time, or 0%? This just sends a signal to Manchin and the last of the "moderate" type Democrats that they won't get full election support - and if they believe that they will likely just switch parties from Democrat to the GOP.
