grand jury indictment decision of choke-hold death of Eric Garner could come this week

There are a lo of rumors, naturally.
that they will delay releasing the decision til the xmas tree is lit.
?
Naturally law enforcement is scaring everybody as if they expect a riot after the decision is announced.
I kinda hope no one riots just to prove the "sky-is-falling" folk wrong.
Otoh I am totally ok with people taking to the streets if they think that is the right thing to do.
I hope someone will post here when they hear.

They report there are striking similarities to how the Brown grand jury was conducted. Basically did a data dump and invited the officer to give his side of the story. I don't know if he called Garner a "demon" or not.

However, I don't see how the GJ can't indict on this case because it is illegal for NYPD to use chokeholds when apprehending an assailant--they were banned in 1993.

... the proceedings will give them the correct law, tell them that there's some conflicts and if one of the GJ asks about the law they PA will say ... Don't get into that... /sarcasm

When it comes to police abuse cases. I get that Prosecutors are reluctant to prosecute because they need the cooperation of the police to put on their cases but that's allowing the PD to hold the prosecutors' office hostage. There's no fairness for the victim of police brutality.

I think a Federal Prosecutor should be used in these instances.

I can only imagine what's going to happen in NYC if the GJ doesn't indict.

... on or somehow the cop cam was destroyed or broken then the cop is automatically indicted and the matter is taken out of the PAs hands so they can keep the relationship with law enforcement.
