Do these cops who kill unarmed people needlessly not fear revenge?

If I were such a cop, I'd be freaking scared to death that someone who loved the person I killed would put an end to me. I don't understand the mentality that wouldn't send these murderous people into deep hiding.

Yes there are a few instances of this happening but I have a feeling most of those people were mental cases before they took the law into their own hands.

Some people, however, do. Have any cops been killed by someone looking for revenge? I don't know, but I suspect some have. Today, as we're hearing about more and more cases where some unarmed person is killed by a cop, I suspect we may hear later that someone has done exactly that.

The father of a person killed, or a brother or someone else. Someone with little to lose and the means to act. It's not just Hollywood, it's part of human nature.

wanted revenge for what they perceived as problems with cops. The problem here is both of those guys were clearly unstable and I don't think cops are too worried about unstable people seeking revenge because it happens so infrequently.

The vast majority people are not actually vigilantes or have any inclination to violently seek retribution.

The targets of their vengeance are also heavily armed and trained, even in states with strict gun control, with the obvious sympathy and support of the police.

Lastly, except for immediate family members and friends, individual cases tend to quickly fade from memory. The lunatic fringe usually finds some other object for their obsessions in short order.

It may be wise for these police officers to exercise simple prudence, but they hardly need to be "scared to death," particularly as time passes.

fellow current officers and retired officers while Joe A. Citizen gets his business burnt down or his head clubbed in by an angry mob.

They know no one is going to find them and no one is going to touch them plus the benefits and payoff for killing a homeless person or minority is HUGE for these gang members.

13. I just had a thought..instead of revenge or whatever...

Would "good"cops be more fearful after this Garner case, and Ferguson still in the forefront of our thoughts?
Or, do the good ones think that maybe a couple cops getting charged and tried, and to some extent being found guilty would be the sacrificial lambs as it were to show that there can be justice.

It makes sense in my head, hope it came out that way.
