The fascists are winning.

Not only can cops kill black men with impunity. Not only can the killers cash in on their killing.

But, most tellingly, look at the expense and show of force deployed to crush any sign of solidarity and protest.

The fascists are winning. Or worse, they won.

If people don't see a pattern they are deaf dumb AND blind! (Figuratively).

What happened to shoot to maim? I thought that was the standard for police, when I was growing up?

I can't believe this has been accepted in our society. No wait..I can ...

but they won a long time ago. As a long hair from the 60's who was a Vietnam War protester, we were kicked, beat, and locked up with regularity. The "pursuit of happiness" in the USA is pretty much reserved for whites tow the line and view others different from them as sub-human. We have been in a police state for a long time - nothing new here.

The first reaction by any system to protest is always an attempt to stamp it out.
That's what fear based systems do.

I am encouraged by the global protests, they do not seem to ever really stop, keep popping up.
And I am really encouraged with what appears to be a very organized and continuing national push back by protesters here.
Which, by the way, has created "sympathy" protests in Europe and Britain.

THIS is how a wave of change swept the country in the 60's/70's. I was there,I was very involved as a community organizer.

A National football team demonstrated a show of support for the victims of police murders...and people cheered.
THAT is very telling.
tonight Spike Jones is marching in NYC, with his son. Soon others of stature will be joining in.

Gotta go with Ghandi on this one:

And that's an absolutely crucial component of fascism, since it's a nationalist-syndicalist philosophy.

And honestly, the one sign of national syndicalism that is clearest -- preventing the hiring of immigrants -- is favored by elements of the right and the left, and opposed by the elite forces that are allegedly pushing fascism forward.

Maybe we need to stop trying to apply the labels from three generations ago to today, and come up with names and theories for what we're actually experiencing now...
