Yes, I agree that cops are totally out of control and that there is NO excuse for them killing black people for no reason other than the color of their skin. It's totally heinous and despicable and is becoming disgustingly too common.

I do not agree that all white people have blood on their hands. I've fought racism, misogyn, all war all the time since I was a teen. I believe all cops should be required to wear body cameras and have them on their cars as well. I believe in convicting cops of murder when they are murderers (like Darren Wilson). My famiy believes the same way I do. My son posted on his FB page that anyone who supported Darren Wilson should unfriend him because they are racist idiots and he wants nothing more to do with them because they are condoning murder and are part of the problem with this country. If you've watched the marches, there are quite a few white/hispanic/Asian folks out with the African Americans protesting these travesties.

Plus, I had a new acquaintance send me a racist email, which I addressed immediately.

I can understand the assertion that "all white people have blood on their hands,' even though I--like you--have been anti-racist, anti-sexist, and an advocate for survivors of relationship violence for over thirty years. I think we can understand the assertion without having to agree. I simply work harder to address racism whenever and wherever I can. As a matter of fact, I just lost my job I believe because I asked my boss to respect my request that he not verbalize his racism in front of me in the workplace. Now, I will have to face my fear and bring his ugly hate and fear out into the open, so that no other person has to tolerate his racist rantings. It will not be easy, but it's vitally important.

We live in ever larger, faster paced, but uniformed silos.. Media fragmented, people don't even know what's going on in their counties or states much less nationally mostly b/c of M$M. I feel that this past election has been a watershed moment in the white reactionary movement to disenfranchise people of color that started with Nixon's using the Southern Strategy in 1970's to divide and conquer. That was the white reactionaries beginning to start pushing back against the voting, civil and human tights drive/protests that were demanding equality that was claimed and still is claimed to be every american's right under our system of law, culture, politics, what ever label you would care to apply. After January 2015 I predict an uptick in the murders, executions, torture of black males and females and killings of young, young black people, males and female. And this will happen because of the RW being emboldened by that vote which has to led them to believe they have received a mandate for their racist policies. Read into that last prediction what you please.

I'm glad that the NAACP is standing up for this, but I think people of all races have a stake in this problem.

personally I think cops are a scourge upon society; so very eager to jump on us walmart protesters, but won't lift a finger for domestic violence, esp if it was committed by a "respectable" white male. this isn't necessarily the fault of the individual cops, but I suspect that the strain of having to commit so many morally questionable actions winnows down the field until only the psychopaths remain. in fact, I had an cop acquaintance who told me just that.

I also suspect that the field is a draw for violent people who need a socially acceptable avenue to express their particular mental illness.
