Every soldier in Iraq and Afghanistan wore a GoPro or similar camera...

At least every soldier in every picture I've ever seen. So, there must be a LOT of surplus GoPro cameras in the military flea market. How come we only send the police excess tanks and assault vehicles? How about if instead we send them all those goddamn GoPros?

1. Not true when I was there

This is not the case in Iraq when I was there in 06-07 and 09-10. Some other soldiers had their own personal camcorders, but nothing issued or mandated. IDK if that has changed or not.

4. Thanks for the info. I assumed they were military issue.

Really, in pretty much every photo I've seen of soldiers carrying out missions in the ME, they're all wearing GoPro's attached to their helmets. I assumed it was part of their gear. Bad assumption, I guess. But still...every cop should be wearing one. Every single one, right up the to top brass. They're cheap, and they'd save lives, and more important to the bean counters, they'd save millions in lawsuits. Study after study proves that people behave better when they know they're being recorded on video.

Every cop should have a camera on them that cannot be turned off. Hell, it is better for them too, maybe they would be able to review tape and see evidence they missed.

(I mean giving soldiers body cams as well as cops. Hell, anybody who carries a gun.)

5. Maybe all guns should have GoPros attached.

I'm not serious, of course. But it's an intriguing idea.

9. Maybe you should read the tread instead of posting "humorous" memes.

Again, if you actually read the thread you'd see that other people pointed out the same thing you did, without being assholes. And I immediately acknowledged that I was wrong about the cameras being military-issue. Do you feel better, though, now that you've thumped your chest and stood your ground? I'm here just to make you feel validated.

If you had taken 30 seconds of your precious time, you'd understand that you're barking up the proverbial wrong tree. But you didn't take the time. You just want to sling shit instead. I addressed your "concern." You ignored it. That's my problem how?
