At the very least, Boehner is proving the RWers wrong about Michael Brown and Garner

http://www.nationaljournal.com/congress/boehner-house-could-hold-hearings-on-eric-garner-michael-brown-cases-20141204

"My colleague Cathy McMorris Rodgers earlier today suggested that there may need to be hearings," Boehner said. "I'm not going to rule that in or out, but I do think the American people deserve more answers about what really happened here and was our system of justice handled properly.

"Clearly both of these are serious tragedies that we've seen in our society, and I think the American people want to understand more of what the facts were," he added. "There are a lot of unanswered questions that Americans have and frankly I have."

The RWers are not just complaining about rioting, they are angrily denying that there is any reason for protesting at all. For example why are they so pissed off about the Rams' protest? They were peaceful, so what's the problem? Their premise is that there is nothing to be upset about so any kind of protest, violent or peaceful, is out of line.

Same with their fury at Eric Holder and President Obama. What are they upset about? Holder has the power to bring federal charges and everyone knows he's not going to do it. No, all they did was express sympathy with the protesters. And the RWers are saying that that amounts to racism, to hatred of white people. They really are saying that.

So now Boehner is coming out an essentially legitimizing the protesters. So how do the haters explain this? Is Boehner racist against white people?

I really hope the hearings happen. I want attention to this issue to continue. That is the LAST thing the haters want. They want the status quo, where police kill people, and the country moves on. Anyone who doesn't like it, your protests aren't going to do anything, you might as well just shut up already.

I wonder if there is any steaming going on in RW circles right now, for this having been granted some, if not legitimacy, at least some uncertainty?

Their real fear is that if they have hearings, and I see no guarantee that there will be in that blurb, that additional data will be presented showing how much police violence there is in this country, and it won't look good. At the very least, the NRA will try to quash any examination of police shootings, like they have in every case so far. Granted, the Garner case doesn't involve a shooting, but when you start looking at death caused by police, it's hard to ignore how guns factor in.

I'm all for holding hearings, though I doubt we'll get much of any use from a Repub run investigation.
