I just love kittens.

Kittens found in a box

Updated: Dec 04, 2014 5:18 PM CST

Oshkosh -
Three kittens are OK after being found in a box in a parking lot in Oshkosh.

The Oshkosh Humane Society says a lot of trash is often dumped in the parking lot of Broad Street, and a woman who regularly cleans the lot near her apartment found the kittens in an uncovered box Thursday morning.

It isn't known how long the kittens were there. Overnight temperatures fell as low as 10 degrees at Oshkosh's airport, according to the National Weather Service.

The humane society tells us the kittens checked out in good health aside from a mild skin condition.

The kittens appear to be about six weeks old.

Cats are resourceful. It could be that the mother put them there and was either away (maybe getting the next kitten) or took off when people were approaching. I had a Siamese who carried each of her five kittens across a busy street to my mother's house for some reason. I was rather shocked when my mother called me at work asking, "why did you bring them here?"
