The Republicans will not co-operate and lift the Cuban embargo and travel restrictions. The embargo is still popular inside the GOP (Gathering Of Psychotics)/Conservative echo chamber, even as more and more of the hard-line Cuban right-wing emigres who supported the embargo for decades shuffle off to the big hereafter.

Supporting the Cuban embargo is still popular within Republican Party circles within Florida and elsewhere among the remaining right-wing cosmic Commie killers, despite the fact that the embargo has lost most of its support not only among the Cuban-Americans living in Florida and New Jersey, but also among the general population.

Unfortunately, the inexplicable and inexcusable behavior of much of the potential electorate this past election has demonstrated that supporting unpopular and idiotic policies can still win Republican Party primaries and then win general elections when the rest of the electorate is too apathetic, too uninformed, and too indolent to vote to protect their own interests.
