(39,332 posts)Let's start in the 1800s when the USA wanted to annex Cuba and after Cuba won independence from Spain, that Teddy Roosevelt took credit for after essentially just riding a horse up a hill, and then the US occupied Cuba do to their "interests".
Then we installed this and that dictator.
Then Fidel said no, but wanted to talk to Kennedy but was denied the opportunity - etc that Tweety is not including in his rant.
A century of domination is what this is about, more than a century.
Cuba held out because Cuba has its OWN IDENTITY.
And they saved it. Otherwise it would be like Puerto Rico, a colony.
It matters that we get history right on this and Tweety has blinders on.
