The young African-American, who witnesses claim to be 12 years old, was arrested in Manhattan's Lower East Side at around 4pm with two others on suspicion of assaulting somebody with a cane.
He was leaning on a cop car surrounded by police when a man ran at full-speed towards them and dealt four blows into the boy's side.
The incident is now being investigated the the police department's internal affairs bureau.
Again, the youth was being handcuffed by four adult police officers when the plainclothes officer had to jump in and throw a beating on the black kid.
Here's the video. Warning it is loud, and not so much safe for work. Not really bad, but I wouldn't watch it there.

Now what kind of a mouth breathing idiot would do something like that with all the bad press the cops have been getting regarding excessive force? What I think we'll see in the near future is the crowds chasing the cops when the do something like that.

Something like that is almost certain to happen here in the United States in the not to distant future IMO.

Conceded.

(11,138 posts)Further, the purpose of the second video was to illustrate the point made by the OP after the article, which is that eventually the public may realize the system will not protect them from police brutality and they will need to take matters into their own hands.
Ya gotta read the posts Fred.

"Something like this is bound to happen here....", is about as speculative as it gets.

(55,981 posts)ignore the police brutality and just keep our heads done and accept it. Well Fred, as hard as you try, you can't pretend away the unrest. Those that are trying to protect their precious status quo are going to be in for a big surprise. You can't hold down the people forever Fred.
I get the impression that you don't like it when people talk back to authority.

(55,981 posts)talk back to authority." Am I wrong. That seems to be your point.
You were giving the OP a bad time for posting a vid, "Police brutality videos from around the world are not necessary to make the point." It's as if you want people to stop posting vids of police brutality. I am not sure why.

(23,946 posts)Why are you wasting your time like this?
So now a bad strawman builder is also an and out and out desperste "stranger from the truth", real precious.
LOL, this is fun.
rhett o rick
(55,981 posts)clarification. All you seem to be able to do is whine about a strawman that doesn't exist.

(10,952 posts)that police brutality it not acceptable and that offenders need to be held accountable for their actions, who do you think will be there for you when it becomes your turn to be brutalized by these thugs? And make no mistake about it, most cops either thugs or too intimidated to take a stand against them in order to do their job to protect and serve the public.

The response of the Department was to beat her and then fire her.
Thou Shall Not cross the Thin Blue Li(n)e.
So when someone asks you to name one good cop, there you go.

(3,891 posts)The last person I trust is a cop. Because I've seen them lie and harass people. A friend of mine restored a 1980's Mercedes. He would drive it to work now and then, and he was pulled over about half the time. He had that car shining like a new penny, but for some reason the police were pulling over random black men in Mercedes that day. It wasn't profiling, it was just a random thing.
The police are corrupt and untrustworthy. Interacting with the cops is like playing russian roulette. You might get lucky and live through it. But eventually you're going to lose.

The kind that is not held responsible for their actions.

(22,000 posts)no charges. The police are already muddying the water with their characterization of the victim. It is awful.

(2,086 posts)I wasn't going to comment, then I re-watched the video.
The "suspect" was clearly under control.
The white guy in plainclothes had absolutely no justification for what he did. He just wanted to hurt that kid. I'm going to shout that out:
HE WANTED TO HURT THAT KID!
He enjoyed giving pain. Maybe the boy was guilty of an assault, I don't know, but we have courts to administer justice and punish offenders.
The cop that punched that helpless, restrained boy is a fucking sadist. He'll keep his job. He'll keep his prestigious plain-clothes assignment. Nothing will be done to this sadistic, psychotic monster, unless the NYPD is embarrassed enough by the video to give him a paid vacation followed by a transfer to another precinct.
He may be on-duty this very moment, searching for another victim.
