If you just look at the Senate, the numbers are even more disturbing. Thirty-nine GOP Senators reject the science on climate changethat's 72 percent of the Senate Republican caucus.
The list includes veteran lawmakers like James Inhofe (Okla.), who is the incoming chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee (EPW) and has written a book titled, The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future. And it includes new senators like Steve Daines (Mont.), who thinks climate change might be caused by solar cycles. (For a great interactive map showing exactly how many climate deniers represent your state in Congress, click here.)

We need sensible tests to pass if running for ANY office, including a drug test. The stupid can be funny, but now we have too many stupid in charge. Something has to be done about this.

(26,117 posts)I was born on planet earth
The rotating ball where man comes first
It's been around for a long, long time
But now it's time to watch it die
I saw a man on my big blue screen
He ruled the world economy
He said the rich would never concede
But some day soon he'll be put to sleep
I've seen the life of the forest green
And adaptations of the deep blue seas
And who knows who is the fittest
They will all soon be put to rest
On a plunging flight
And we're sitting in the pilot's seat
In the midst of life
People on a dark horizon
Praying somebody will save their lives
I was born on planet earth
At a drastic time full of plastic mirth
And everyday I've seen increasing signs
And you would too if you'd open your eyes
You had a chance you did not try
So now it's time to watch it die

(21,475 posts)Democrats had solid majorities in both Houses and the Presidency and what did they do? Why bother to vote for someone when they do the opposite of what you voted for? I doubt there is a single Liberal that wanted a Republican version of Health Care that was designed to fail at the onset. Nor did any Liberals want Democrats to ask for Republicans approval before writing any bills, yet that is what we got. And you want me to vote for more of that??????

(4,462 posts)They depended on moderate and conservative Democrats whose ideas often differed significantly from their more liberal counterparts and who represented more conservative states and districts.
The last couple of election cycles have eliminated the majority of these moderate Democrats. The result is that the Republicans now control the Senate and have their largest majority in the House in generations.
We now have a choice, convince far more voters, particularly in red and purple states, to elect clear liberals, or accept that Democratic control of Congress requires significant comprise with less liberal interests.

(21,475 posts)And we don't do that by appeasing the Republicans. PERIOD......Want to keep Democratic voters at home, keep doing what we are doing.

The sun does heat our atmosphere. Duh. Just see how fast temperatures drop when the sun sets.
Our problem is the extra co2 in the atmosphere. Co2 captures and stores heat from the sun. So the more co2 we have the more capture of the sun's heat.
How they can deny that simple science is hard to fathom.
