Bills Propose to Cloak College Hires The Ledger
State Rep. Neil Combee filed a House companion bill to legislation that was filed more than a month ago by state Sen. Alan Hays, R-Umatilla, which would exempt from public records laws the names of applicants for top administrative posts in Floridas university or state college systems.
The Senate bill (SB 182) and Combees legislation (HB 223) would remove any personal identifying information about applicants and would allow closed-door interviews of the applicants for president, provost or dean at a state-supported institution of higher learning.
The information about the winning applicant would become public when the selection is announced, but perhaps not the names of those who applied and were not chosen, public records supporters said.
Combee said he decided to sponsor the bill in the Florida House because Hays is so convinced it will improve the quality of applicants in the states universities and colleges.

(46,736 posts)be feeder groups for right-wingers who have nothing better to do than to undermine their own communities.
Just saying, if someone shows gross incompetence on not just one board, but on the boards of two different private community organizations and they still manage to hold onto a lofty position with a public university, you gotta wonder if there isn't a hidden design somewhere.
That's why these intern positions are important to watch, since there may be a desire to indoctrinate a whole generation that would be serving these asshats that not only have university jobs, but also hijack private community organizations that could potentially question some of the plans that university think-tanks come up with; or may present a challenge to the cities that these universities need to work with.
