Instead of mythologizing a pathological liar how about Hollywood Celebrates the guy who brought a little bit of peace and happiness during a very dark time? I know, it won't sell as good...

(45,319 posts)see three acts there, go for it. It's not like there is only one movie made a year, or one per subject. Go make your Iraq movie. What's stopping you? Is Clint that much sharper than you?

(66 posts)I don't care about what his Politics may or may not be, I would rather just see a film about his actions during WWII and what he started more than overcompensating Rednecks and their bullshit stories.

(15,438 posts)Then again, corporate America would NEVER allow a movie based on him to come to fruition. It would expose Corporate war profiteering and their attempt to overthrow FDR in what is now dubbed "The Business Plot" - and implicate Prescott Bush, the father and grandfather of no less than two presidents. It's most likely the reason they never made a movie on this highly decorated man. It doesn't serve corporate interests unlike The American Sniper that attempts to glorify an illegal war, based on the reactions of moviegoers.

(20,166 posts)His "War is a Racket" and testimony about the "Business Plot" would be so relevant today.
If someone with the resources (and courage) could manage to pull it off and do it well, I think such a film would have the potential to be one of those lightning-rod films.
You're right, though...I can't imagine it getting made or, more importantly, distributed.
