With growing inequality and the civil unrest from Ferguson and the Occupy protests fresh in peoples mind, the worlds super rich are already preparing for the consequences. At a packed session in Davos, former hedge fund director Robert Johnson revealed that worried hedge fund managers were already planning their escapes. I know hedge fund managers all over the world who are buying airstrips and farms in places like New Zealand because they think they need a getaway, he said.

(4,571 posts)Doesn't mean those 85 are responsible for most inequality and if you get rid of those 85 people, inequality vanishes.
In the US, the wealthiest one percent captured 95 percent of post-financial crisis growth since 2009, while the bottom 90 percent became poorer.
The richest 1% in the US is more than 85 people. But inequality is the system, not just people.

(18,184 posts)then why not spread it around a little, stay where they are, and just have most of the world's wealth?
It all seems somewhat self-defeating to destroy the society that gave them the wealth to the point that they have to become fugitives.
