apparently for no rational reason began pepper spraying people attending a MLK peaceful march..
In my opinion she/he just became frightened to the point of acting irrationally..

(13,101 posts)with machine guns !!!
A unit of 350 officers will be using machine guns in NY city.
Coming to a city near you.
This is one sick fucking country.
It disgusts me.
Zbigniew Brzezinski; To put it bluntly: in earlier times, it was easier to control a million people than to physically kill
a million people, today, it is infinitely easier to kill a million people than to control a million people.
Brzezinski was the United States National Security Adviser 1977 to 1981.
He is still involved in politics to this day in the U.S.
His daughter is Mika on the MSNBC Morning Joe.
I fear there are very dark and violent times ahead for the U.S.

(11,065 posts)Looks like she just indiscriminately sprayed a lot of people. I can't even see why she was screaming at them to "get back" either. It looked like there was one guy that approached her and walked away, and she just went nuts with the spray on people that were nowhere near her nor approaching her as soon as he left. It also looks like she came rather close to hosing the officer next to her.
I can't imagine what the hell she was thinking.

(3,747 posts)There were a fair number of protesters there, and she was treating them all as active threats. Like I said in the other thread, there was a 75+ year old woman in front of me that she screamed at. The woman may even have been hit with the spray, I don't know.
The Jesse Hagopian thing was very clearly wrong, too. Glad to see it's getting all the publicity, I figured there'd be a few of us eyewitnesses who had our testimony contradicted by cops and that was about all that would happen.

(11,065 posts)Someone in a building was shooting footage of what was happening through a window. Though there's some reflection on the window you can still see the officer that went nuts on the crowd long after they either backed away (they had converged on the officers blocking the street) or dispersed. Behind the line of officers there was some mayhem going on in which one officer was assaulted and injured.

Just shows more of what was going on at the time and from a much wider perspective/angle/can't think of the right word.
At about the one minute mark or a few seconds sooner or so the person taking the video says something like "that wasn't very necessary" just when that one officer in the line went ape with the pepper spray on the guy with the phone and the woman next to him and then on the remainder of the crowd of people not doing anything and who had already backed off so far that the spray didn't come anywhere near them. I'm guessing that what he said had to do with that one officer since he says it at the same time she's going nuts with the spray.
Because of the reflection in the window she's difficult to see, but she's in the police line way at the top of the screen a bit to the left of the center of the video and to the right of the pole at the sidewalk.
