Muslim Woman Claims Harassment on Delta flight

An Arab-American Muslim woman from Michigan who wears an Islamic head scarf said she was harassed by another passenger on a Delta Air Lines, Inc., flight and then told by a flight attendant to move.

Darlene Hider, 32, says she was with her four children and husband on a Monday flight from Florida to Detroit when a woman yelled at her, "This is America!" and insulted her because of her Islamic faith, reports Detroit Free Press.

Hider says a Delta (NYSE: DAL) flight attendant told her and her children to move, rather than the woman who made the comment.

The paper reports Hider told the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee the Delta attendant said: "You are at my wit's end. You better be quiet before I kick you off of this plane!"

1. There's a real problem in the US with this sort of thing...

And I've noticed that people tend to stay silent. I've seen footage here of people shouting down the anti-Muslim creeps when they were out in public trying to cause trouble, but in the US it's as though the bigotry and discrimination is invisible...
