It's always 'Who are we grifting today?' and 'Can someone shut that damn baby up. I'm expecting a call from TLC.'

We were out toward Chena Hot Springs today, and it was extremely quiet. I imagine on average the whole state of Alaska is quieter than anyplace in the L48.

And, please, people, stop with the Palin jokes. Alaska is so much more than he Palins. It gets tiresome.

Well, the yoopers would disagree, but they are a very friendly sort, mostly Finlanders and Norwegians. Almost no expressways, lots of two lane highways, small towns.

Beautiful place!

Three boys make a LOT of noise....and when their friends are over....YIKES.

SO, that really bright spot in Iowa, well, that's probably us.

I think we broke the volume control on the first one when he was small.

That's a pretty obvious equation.

I'll bet, if there were a map showing the darkest places, it would compare positively to this one.

Want quiet, or want to see the night sky? Go places where there are fewer people. Of course, if everybody did that, there wouldn't be fewer people for long, lol.
