Food for thought

“Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment.”

― Mahatma Gandhi

Human beings are social creatures, and acts of love are far more powerful than punishment.

Build a man a fire, you keep a man warm for a night. Teach a man to build a fire, you keep him warm for a life time.

That statement doesn't seem to mean what Republicans think it means. To teach a person, you actual have to get down in the dirt with him to show him how to do it.

How many people on Wall Street could build a fire and fish if thrown to the wolves of a metropolitan city street with no ID or money on a cold winter night?
