1) Why was Sureshbhai Patel attacked?...

This is the heart of the story: Sureshbhai Patel was left paralyzed because his neighbor thought he was a suspicious Black man, and the police were primed to believe the same — though at least one officer had figured out he was “an older Indian male” by the time he was laying on the ground bleeding from his face.

The Hindu American Foundation says they’re responding to the case by “creating a Hinduism 101 training for first responders.” This fails to address the root cause: Mr. Patel’s white neighbor asked the police to protect his wife from the “skinny black guy” on the street.

Patel wasn’t attacked because he was Indian, or a Hindu — he was attacked because of anti-Black racism, compounded by utter disrespect for those with limited English proficiency.

I have given credit to the police and governor on this case for the response to the cop.

But if he was black would they try to justify it ? And we do have video that shows the cop was clearly wrong . But We had the same when it comes to Eric garner and we saw what happened there.
