Jeb's first big speech reveals the same bungling, babbling bumbler as brother Bush

FL Democratic Party ?@FlaDems 6m6 minutes ago
Jeb Bungles Facts, Pronunciation in His Big National Security Speech http://thebea.st/1yYKdj9

Trying to sound presidential, Bush instead came off like a confused former governor

Likely presidential candidate Jeb Bush delivered a nervous, uncertain speech on national security Thursday, full of errors and confusion...

Bush’s clunky, rushed delivery paled in comparison to the hazy facts in the speech and vague answers he gave during a Q&A session following his remarks.

Speaking of the extremist group based in Nigeria that has killed thousands of civilians, Bush referred to Boko Haram as “Beau-coup Haram.” Bush also referred to Iraq when he meant to refer to Iran.

Further, Bush misrepresented the strength of ISIS, saying they have some 200,000 men, which is far greater than U.S. intelligence community’s estimates. Last week National Counterterrorism Center Director Nicholas Rasmussen pegged the fighting strength of ISIS at between 20,000 and 31,500...

Referring to the leader of the so-called Islamic State, Bush referred to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as “the guy that’s the supreme leader or whatever his new title is—head of the caliphate.”

...for all his bluster about being different from his brother and father, Bush didn't really espouse a particularly unique worldview.

These idiots were discovered i the Bush family. After Jeb, will Neal and Marvin run? They are fully qualified for the gop party, since their last name is Bush. Donors already paid $100,000 a seat for his fundraiser in NY. We had better be aware before he is placed into the WH like his idiot brother. He is not much smarter, and he has the same vacant look. This family has a very shallow gene pool.

Molly Ivins' book Bushwhacked can give a very good idea of what we can expect from this family, should this basturd ever get near the reins of power. It should be chilling to every American, and should drive a wooden stake into the heart of any future Bush run for office--IF it were read widely enough. I highly recommend it to DUers and everyone else.

The Bushes are not conservative--that's a facade for public consumption. The reality is that they are power-mad and greedy. And they will literally do ANYTHING to further their ambitions. We put them in office at our peril.

.

For anyone interested, here is a link to Amazon for the book: http://www.amazon.com/Bushwhacked-Life-George-Bushs-America/dp/0375713115/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1424539738&sr=1-1&keywords=bushwhacked

It's not so much that he got the facts wrong--all Republicans do that--but it's the WAY he did it. That smug, self-satisfied, ham-fisted assurance that none of his fans will know he's fucking lying, so why should he bother to dress it up in fancy language?

"...Bush also referred to Iraq when he meant to refer to Iran..."

Did he talk about the "Grecians" and the "Nation of Africa" yet?

This one was as funny as the Chimp ever gave us: "...Referring to the leader of the so-called Islamic State, Bush referred to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as “the guy that’s the supreme leader or whatever his new title is—head of the caliphate.” ..."

When George was interviewed on foreign policy during his 2000 campaign, he couldn't name leaders either.

Hiller asked: "Can you name the president of Chechnya?"

"No, can you?" Bush replied.

"Can you name the president of Taiwan?" Hiller asked.

"Yeah, Lee,'" responded Bush, referring to Taiwanese President Lee Teng-hui.

"Can you name the general who is in charge of Pakistan?" asked Hiller, inquiring about Gen. Pervaiz Musharraf, who took over last month in a military coup.

"Wait, wait, is this 50 questions?" replied Bush.

Hiller replied: "No, it's four questions of four leaders in four hot spots."

Bush said: "The new Pakistani general, he's just been elected – not elected, this guy took over office. It appears this guy is going to bring stability to the country and I think that's good news for the subcontinent."

Hiller persisted, saying "Can you name him?"

Bush said: "General. I can name the general. General."

"And the prime minister of India?" asked Hiller, inquiring about a man who was recently re-elected and who last year tested a nuclear bomb.

Bush said: "The new prime minister of India is – no."
