Did you know when you turn 45 in Australia you no longer receive Healthcare of any kind?

You see Australia has universal healthcare, and it is spread so thin that when you turn 45, you are done.

Wasnt there a movie like that, "Logan's Run"

I was told this today by my CPA...a real CPA...degrees, college educated, the whole shebang.

In other words this is an educated man, and he believes it.

He hates Obamacare, of course.

i just looked at the stats, Australia has more physicians per thousand population than USA...

Which brings up a real problem in USA, unless we eliminate ALL higher education costs, or most, we are going to run out of physicians someday.

"You are an educated man, you KNOW better"

Then I said when I prove to him he is wrong, will he believe me?

He said, get this

"I will believe you about Australia and only Australia"

as we had been talking about the success in Canada and other countries

he said "all the canadians I have seen are unhealthy"

It just makes you want to bang your head against a wall repeatedly

How many healthy travelers go to a doctor?

Heck, every American I spoke with today has a legal problem of some kind. Of course, not many people call up a lawyer to say, "Everything's great, just thought I'd say 'hello'."

Wow. Just wow.

Actually to be fair, the only Canadian I've seen recently is John Candy, and that poor guy is dead. So on a technicality... I'd have to agree.

We will just increase visas and import more as needed, as long as they are willing to work for 50% of what an America doctor usually charges of course.

Yet more proof that the propaganda machine works just as intended on the overwhelming majority of the populace.

inconvenience me, so what if it means tens of millions of my fellow Americans will get healthcare.

The slightest inconvenience or extra charge or tax on ME is ALL I care about..

Revealed a stupid streak a kilometer wide (that's a little over a half mile for him).

He's not really educated, he has learned a trade and probably not all that well either, no truly educated person would say something that brain dead, let alone say it to a paying customer.

to believe the nonsense about how people in Canada or England have to wait months an months for health care. They never quite get it that a hip replacement isn't exactly an emergency situation .

Oh, and in this country, people often wait months at a time for joint replacements.

Even when I was at University, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, it was more about getting a license to earn money than expanding one's knowledge. It's even worse now; it's like very fancy and expensive vo-tech that fails at teaching reasoning, logic, or independent thought. (There's nothing wrong with vo-tech; it teaches a trade and doesn't pretend to be anything else and usually doesn't come at the cost of ransoming your future.)
