That Damned Fox News Will Rot Your Brain.

I work part-time on a graveyard shift cleaning crew. Tonight one of the managers and I had a rather long argument about regulating corporations. Rather than bore you with all the twists and turns she took, I'll simplify.

Her: You can't regulate corporations. They'll always find a way around the laws.

Me: Rules are part of life. We all have them. Some are good, some are not, but we have to follow most of them or we pay the consequences

Her: It doesn't have to be that way. Look at Obamacare. They cut people's hours. See, they can't make corporations follow rules. They'll find a way around it.

Me: I wanted everyone on Medicare. Then we could take employers out of the equation. We just need better laws.

Her: No, you can't regulate corporations. They'll take all the jobs somewhere else and then where will we be? Then there was something about how you can't buy good mugs anymore. I didn't quite catch it all. It was rather ridiculous.

Me: We have to regulate corporations. Individuals have to follow laws. If we can't let people do whatever they want, it follows that we can't let corporations do as they please. After all, people run corporations.

Her: nada

Fox dementia is making people lose their grasp of the simplest concepts. That's what happens when people blindly follow someone and shed all their critical thinking skills. What are we going to do with these people? It's an honest question.

Our form of government depends upon an informed electorate. We have broadcasters telling people lies and calling it news. It's threatening the stability of the country.

I wonder if cult deprogramming would work on Foxbots. Someone could make a killing specializing in that, because I think we all know someone who really needs it.

turning on that channel. It's one of the freakiest things I've ever seen. Someone in charge of their programming must have graduated from the Goebbels school with high honors. Cult de-programming would be very useful indeed. Maybe it's something we all should learn.
