Machinists Union leader alludes to general strike at Wisconsin Capitol rally
Im getting sick and tired of coming to these rallies, singing Kumbaya, and end up getting screwed, Phil Gruber, Midwest territory general vice president for the Machinists Union, told some 2,000 people attending the rally outside. Its time we take action in this country, brothers and sisters. Its time we take action, or these politicians will take every damn thing left away from us.
The only way were going to stop the right-to-work laws and the other forms of legislation that hurt the middle class is to stand still, he said. Thats right, I said stand still. I think its about time that we stop the production in this country. Lets stop the truck from moving freight across this country. Lets stop the planes and the trains from moving people.

If it can be done on social media, GO FOR IT
Instead of "Occupy Wall Street", we have "Occupy Labor On The Web"
It's kinda hard to arrest us here.

(8,224 posts)6. Long overdue
Most management systems these days create and then depend on a compliant and low paid workforce of interchangeable cogs in the production wheel.
A non-compliant workforce would blow all their six sigma calculations to bits. It is past time to tell these folks where to put their "metrics".

The ONLY thing that can save the Unions is for them to finally UNITE and stop every piece of freight moving in this country. Until a real show of force is provided they will continue to chip away at Unions one piece at a time until there is NOTHING left.
