when public attitudes were more against LGBT rights than in favor, so they flew under the radar, while laws of that sort passed recently, since public support has swung overwhelmingly in favor of LGBT rights, are noticed and reacted against. We just need to increase awareness of any laws in other states that allow for such discrimination.
