Mark Dayton for President

I would vote for Mark Dayton for President. He has done well as Minnesota's governor and has good progressive views. Overall, I like governors becoming Presidents.

1. Dayton will never run for president,

and although I like him very much as governor, he would not do well in a presidential campaign. He's not a good speaker - he is very soft-spoken; he mumbles and often seems to hesitate when he speaks. He's also indicated he has no desire to go any further in politics.

He has a long history in Minnesota politics that would not help him all that much in a national campaign, even if he did have the ambition to run.

Plus what everyone else said. He appears to be a pushover. He isn't far from it actually. His style of wit is very subtle and most people don't even see it when he skewers Republicans. I am lucky in that I see it, but it's hard to explain to other people what he just did.
