Do you think this is a test? A friend is going for an interview and the person's name

or the person he is to ask for (example) Joe Camden (Legal name is ____) The legal name is a strange name. My wife believe it is a Scandinavian maybe Russian name. The gentleman is going for a job in which it is almost like customer service and My wife thinks they are testing the gentleman to see if he can be respectful or how well he handles a hard name.

Are we reading too much into this?

If you don't find it there, Google pronounce "name"

The internet will give you the correct way to say it.

If the friend gets it right, he'll score points in the interview. People are sensitive about their names.

Why is it surprising to interact with people who maybe were foreign born ? Why would that be a gotcha question ? If you are not sure how to pronounce it simply say so respectfully and ask the person how to pronounce it.
My last name is of french origin and i dont mind if people ask how to pronounce it.

for a customer service position, then why shouldn't they test him on that? It's pretty basic to customer service. I'm not understanding what the issue or problem is here.
